Sun Mountain

Another trip with Jaz (the red car)...this time over the mountains to Sun Mountain Lodge near Winthrop.  It is amazing that we have done The Sylvia Hotel, and Sun Mountain all within a month.  Now we need to stay at Salishan to complete the triad.  (later...)   We had wonderful weather.  Luckily Hwy 20 is still open and though it was below freezing at the pass there was not more than a few inches of snow to be seen--though the road was icy in spots.  Luckily there was virtually no traffic.  We got such a good deal on the room ($85/night for a suite with separate bedroom with king sized bed, a very nice living area with fireplace, and luxurious bathroom with jacuzzi) that we splurged on food.  Here is Frog enjoying a very fine bottle of wine. (pictures do not go where I want them)

After a gourmet dinner on Monday night we went for a hike in the sun on Tuesday morning.  The sunniest hike was up the side of Patterson Mountain.  Though there were not many people about we did meet some people from Lopez Island on our hike.  Here are some photos from the top of the mountain.  We'll see where they end up. (at the top of course)

Working Wayne

Wayne the truck gets a lot of rest time when we are not RVing.  But lest he get too spoiled we take him out now and again.  Here is Wayne playing lumber truck.  Over a year ago we got a large cedar tree removed from our view and it has finally turned into lumber--a lot of lumber.  It is my dream to build a sauna but this is way more than we will need for a sauna.
