Sunday

We often do a Sunday bike ride down to the U. Today was our first of the season. Found this nice little park on the way back with flowers and a photo op. Sunday morning here there is a Sunday social. Folks get dressed up for coffee and donuts. There is an entertainment program of some kind. I guess this is a substitute for church. This afternoon there was a gospel sing along at the pool. So we are churched for the day. The church of sunshine. Another 80 day

Take me to your leader

Yesterday we did the hike to Hope Camp which is a nice easy hike by Tucson standards--ie there is little climbing. I never tire of taking photos of saguaros: even the dead ones. We are enjoying some almost 80 weather but it is to cool down to 60's on Tuesday. I have been watching the 40's and raining in Anacortes and not feeling too bad about being here--and doing much of nothing. Last night we went to the Friday movie here which was The Kings Speech. Today Kit is off biking and I am doing laundry.

Tucson

We have been in Tucson for 4 days now and I haven't taken a single photo or been inspired to blog. We are settled into Far Horizons, in the same spot we had last year. Funny thing--a View which is twin to our motor home is in the spot we occupied for the previous 5 years. The weather is amazing and we have been enjoying lots of pool time. We've done a small hike --the wildflowers are amazing already this year. We've done a bike ride too. We've walked to the store nearly every day--and the French bakery. Today is a 3 B day--bocce in the morning, a barbecue at noon--complete with fiddle music. Tonight we are going to a program on Bufflegrass at the National Park. We have started seriously looking into the idea of buying a park model. The places we looked at are real fixer uppers--but we found a perfect place that might be available next year. Tomorrow we've got to do some hiking to start getting in shape.

Tucson

Three hard road days from Sacramento and we are in Tucson. This is a new record for us -- 8 days from home. Arrived in time for pool and hot tub yesterday. Now a Sunday to settle in. We are in 411 same as last spring

Oranges

Did I mention the orange trees. By this time of year most of the oranges have been picked over

Ode to Orange Grove

The best showers we have found in ant RV park any where. Awesome laundry room. $2 less than a tent site at a Ca state park. Bakersfield is right on our path-- everyone else's too. The big rigs pore in.

Sacramento

We decided to take a day off from travel and ride our bikes into old town Sacramento 6 miles and most all of it into a wild head wind. Alas the visitor center man said not to leave our bikes anywhere even locked up or they would be stolen. Luckily he let us leave them inside the Visitor Center so we could go to a museum and have lunch.

Moving along

We are back on I5 for a long haul. It is our intent to cruise by Eugene this trip. No such thing as a quick stop in Eugene. Made it to Salem Saturday night. Helped Milli hang blinds and went out for Indian food. Sunday we made the short hop to Sweet Home. Had a visit with my mom. This
Morn she had Neighborly Neighbors at 10 and we headed south

High Tide

Leaving on the 8:00 ferry. Heading south. Black skies but sun shines through. Good day for driving we hope. From now on our area of responsibility is confined to 24 feet

Almost Ready

The weather has turned from springlike sunny to winter rainy so we are ready to be off for the southland. Most of the packing has been done--Ida is mostly loaded. A few more things to do tomorrow and we are off early Saturday morning. Plan stops in Salem and Sweet Home and then heading straight for the border.
