Oh Canada

We crossed over the border this afternoon and are staying in Grand Forks which is a town we've stopped in before but not stayed. It's full of cyclists tonite though they seem not to have discovered the pub where we are having dinner. And we came early. We got the last room in our motel. Tomorrow we do the Crows Nest Highway east.

Home stretch.

Hit some hellacious rain south of Olympia. Headed off the beaten path to visit our friends Don and Melanie at Jarrell Cove St. Park on Hartstene Is. This is our campsite. We were only campers there and weather improved significantly. Came back today up Hwy 3 to the Keystone Ferry to Edmonds and totally missed the mega cities on I 5. 8 pm ferry home our only chance for a high enough tide this week

Mothers day

We went on Friday to see Darci and baby Xalen. Since Champoeg was booked for the weekend we spent two nights at Riverbend County park near Sweet Home. No cell service there but quiet and sunny-- almost too warm. Visited Mom Sat and Sun -- had picnics in the beautiful courtyard. Now we are back at Champoeg on our way home. We need to be on the 8 pm Tuesday ferry as that's the highest daylight tide this week

Champoeg

Long drive down i5 and here we are at Champoeg one of our favorite state parks. We've been out on the bikes, had ice cream in Butteville, ridden some wonderful and horrid roads and are back at camp. We look across a grassy field and then a mint field. I just saw a blue bird in our campsite. With sun and upper 70's it is summer here and looks like the campground is booked tomorrow
