Home Sweet Guemes

All's well that ends well.  We had to walk VERY fast to catch our plane to Seattle but made it in the nick of time.  Arrived in Seattle on time after what seemed a LONG flight.  Unlike Indianapolis at 10 pm, SEATAC at 10pm was teeming.  We have never seen it so busy.  Didn't get to our hotel until 11pm or 2am Eastern time.  Drove home after breakfast on Tuesday.  So happy to be home--but so much to do.  So it goes.

Monday

Had Lunch at the Mayberry Cafe in Danville IN with our friends Janee and Jack. It was the small Indiana farm town we had been looking for.  Pleasant afternoon. Now we are at airport and a thunderstorm is going through. Our flight is delayed 65 minutes. Making our chances iffy of making connection in Chicago

Wedding venue

The wedding took place in this really cool old theater. It was a very fine evening

Rain

I guess I could post of picture of a wet parking lot. We are holed up in the hotel most of the day. 3 hour time difference here. We barely made it up before breakfast ended at 10 am.

So... Our plane was late leaving Seattle and thus late arriving Chicago. I was worried about missing our flight to Indiana but --contrary to previous experience at O'Hare when we have had to run a marathon or take a train to the next flight--we only had to walk a short distance to our gate. The flight to Indianapolis was very fine--nice comfortable small plane. Airport was pretty much shut down. Got our bag quick and found shuttle to hotel with only a short wait. Dinner at Waffle House at 10:30pm local.

SEATAC

We have arrived at airport and as usual I am a nervous wreck though the process was smooth. We are on our way to Indianapolis via Chicago. Waiting for our lunch and our flight. Leave at 12:50

Our Fairhaven neighborhood

Wine is fine

Rather a non descript day in Fairhaven. Kit went biking and I went shopping. Later in the afternoon we went wine tasting at the wine shop and ran into our Guemes friends Tom
And Deb. No brown paper bags but the wine was good. Now off to dinner

Make no assumptions

Fine day for a bike adventure. We rode into downtown Bellingham-/ only a couple miles -/ and disappointing. No bike lanes. Came back to Fairhaven, got some sandwiches and decided to ride the interurban to Larrabee. Nice flat rails trails path we thought. Wrong. All of a sudden we had to go down this twisty turny hiking trail into a canyon, across this creek and up the other side. Wonderful hiking trail but not pushing bikes. Turned around before we got to the mythical flats. Lots of hikers and mountain bikers

Beer and dinner

Found a cool basement pub. Fairhaven is not much more than restaurant and tourist shops. Pork tacos and beer is our choice

Big Adventure

Just finished 4 days of summer science camp and on our way to Big Adventure. We left Guemes on the one. Lines to get on the island were backed up past M. The ferry is on I. no turning around. On our way to 4 days in Fairhaven
