Kit and Carol on the Road

I guess it's too true what they say "you can't go back home". We had planned an idyllic September week back on Guemes— renting our old house. Walking roads and beaches, climbing the mountain, visiting friends— outdoors. What a cruel blow. The west coast is burning and deadly smoke has settled over our world. It was supposed to blow out yesterday but now they say it will hang in all week.
