Friday adventures

Despite the forecast the weather today was rain free. We got a late start because the Carriage Museum doesn't open until 10. It was a very interesting place to visit. All those cool carriages you read about in Victorian novels and even a couple wild west coaches. Then we went to South Bend where we were told there was a really nice courthouse. And found the world's largest oyster (oyster shell actually—see photo. After that we headed to Tokeland to check out the Historic Hotel. Despite being on a spit at the end of the world it was a "nothing to do" place. I wanted to walk on the Beach and we remembered Grayland State Park as being a neat place. But the beach access along this route are drive on the sand for half a mile —not our cup of tea.
So we came back and had a nap :)

Grizzly day (gray and drizzly)

We were having lovely weather in Lacey so decided to take a 2 day adventure to the coast (in our continuing exploration of Washington south of Seattle). We are not actually at the coast but in Raymond which is not exactly the hub of the state. We came here after seeing lots of commercials on TV for the Carriage Museum here. What the heck. It sounded like a central place for some exploring and maybe not as windy. More tomorrow when I take some photos.
