Air Museum
Eugene
Arrived in Eugene and settled into our favorite hotel by Alton Baker Park—good for walking —and biking back in the day. Friday night there was a concert in the park—luckily not too loud. Sunday morning there was a big dog event involving running and walking with dogs. It was a challenge to walk to the river.
We have done a lot of visiting—and eating out. Friday night it was Kate and Chrisman and Max (now in middle school) for barbecue. Saturday it was brunch with Kitty and Bill at the noisy Glenwood Cafe (one of few restaurants still open from our day.). Sunday noon we met for another noisy brunch with David and Marjie at the Laurelwood golf course. Sunday afternoon I had a nice visit with Susan Lange—in the lobby of our hotel—a quiet pleasant spot. Saturday night we had a nice dinner just the two of us at the nearby North Bank, a holdover from our day though now a McMinnamins.

Trip continues
Nice motel in Kaiser was close to my college friend Lucia (and Paul) (We had dinner with them) Friday morning we had a visit with Nelda (and Ron) in Lebanon (another college friend) . Then on to Sweet Home, my old home town. My mom's old house on Evergreen Lane has lost all the evergreens, and our old church is a disaster surrounded by weedy trees. But the old A&W hasn't changed much. They still have drive in service and even indoors the ordering is on a phone at your booth.

Farewell tour
We are on a road trip in Oregon for a week visiting lots of friends and family. Kit calls it our farewell tour not because we are saying good bye to anyone but because we won't do a mega trip like this again.
