Two
Edmonds
I am behind the time. Last Sunday we walked along the waterfront in Edmonds where we had stayed overnight after the Awards banquet in Seattle. Lovely and mellow after the City.

Hoh Rain Forest
I was awe struck by this moss hanging on a log over a glass clear stream. Even though I've always lived in forest, the rain forest never ceases to amaze. We slept in the Hoh Monday night in a $6 campsite

Washington Coast
We spent Tuesday night at Pacific Beach State Park on the Washington Coast. What a surprise. The price for a site with no privacy and only Electric (no water) was $40. But oh the views. This is the only state park we know which is right on the beach. Our campsite was just a few feet from the beach and the views were panoramic. Alas it was cloudy so no gorgeous sunset. Wednesday we drove down the peninsula and checked out another State Park at Ocean City which we didn't like at all so luckily didn't land there. I wanted to go to Ocean Shores which I have heard much about but never have been there. It wasn't as tacky as we thought it might be--and I found a fabric shop. The best though was the Interpretive Center. Kit thought it was over done but I loved it--something about almost everything. Spent over an hour there before heading again inland to Mima Mounds and then Olympia.

Mima Mounds
3 nights with no cell and last night out with Kirsten so am doing our holiday backwards. Yesterday afternoon we made it to Mima Mounds which turned out to require Discover Pass-- but no one was checking Who knew this beautiful prairie was hidden so close to I5.? And there is a mystery. Scientists don't know what caused all these mounds.
